Why does United4Literacy also collect and donate food items and school supplies for local communities? Do you still sponsor the education of children in rural India?
Since 2009, U4L has always emphasized the importance of equitable education, specifically for impoverished children in rural India to prevent them from being compelled to join the workforce. However, we also recognize that education-related issues were not only prevalent in India, but locally throughout Canada as well. We recognize that locally, some students may be forced to go to school hungry, or not have the supplies to reach their full potential in their studies. Thus, U4L introduced a new chapter of the organization – raising resources for the local community while still making a monetary contribution to students in rural India. This way, we can develop a strong impact and promote accessible and equitable education at all levels of the community.
What is the U4L National Ambassador program?
Founded in August 2022, the U4L National Ambassador program looks to expand U4L’s mission and efforts across the country by hosting various fundraisers and/or awareness events throughout Canada. We currently have Ambassadors in four different provinces. Click here to learn more.
How can I get involved with U4L? Are there any eligibility requirements?

Is it possible for me to join the U4L National Ambassador Program?

Can I volunteer at a specific U4L event, but not specifically join the U4L team?
Yes, you can. Reach out to your local Ambassador to let them know you wish to support a U4L initiative.
